Temple Emanu-El, founded in 1845 on the Lower East Side, was the first Reform Jewish congregation in New York City. By 1927 the congregation built its present house of worship on Fifth Avenue and E. 65th Street.
I give special thanks to all of my teachers over the years at Temple Emanu-El, especially Rabbi Amy B. Ehrlich and teacher Yaffa Kaye for their support and assistance in my preparation.
